Berlin-Neukölln

About 328,000 people live in Neukölln. 44 percent of them have a migration background. The multicultural district has colorful streets. Hipster, artists and creative people live in the hip neighborhoods in the north of Neukölln. Here, the structure of classic old buildings dominates the street scene. Neukölln also includes the districts of Gropiusstadt, Britz, Buckow and Rudow. While Gropiusstadt, which was founded in the 1960s and 1970s, has high and densely developed apartment buildings, the old quarters of Britz, Buckow and Rudow are characterized by a mixed building structure, terraced houses and single-family houses. Neukölln has many facets: from the pub in “Kreuzkölln” to the rural idyll with suburban character in the southern districts.
