Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg

Until the district reform in 2001, Prenzlauer Berg was an autonomous district. Today, it is a part of Pankow, neighbouring in the southwest to Mitte, in the south to Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, in the east to Lichtenberg and in the north to Weißensee. In Prenzlauer Berg more than 80 percent of all residential units were built before 1948. Most were built between 1889 and 1905. The hip structures of Prenzlauer Berg and the multicultural atmosphere are a magnet for many people. Many tourists are attracted by the pubs, nightlife and cultural life. Due to the growing popularity of Prenzlauer Berg, real estate prices increased significantly in the recent years.
